Noreen, who I don't know, send me a forwarded email that was rather funny. I thought I'd share it with you. Have a great day, darlings! :)

----

There's an old sea story about a ship's Captain who inspected his sailors, and afterward told the first mate that his men smelled bad.

The Captain suggested perhaps it would help if the sailors would change underwear occasionally.

The first mate responded, "Aye, aye sir, I'll see to it immediately!"

The first mate went straight to the sailors berth deck and announced, "The Captain thinks you guys smell bad and wants you to change your underwear." He continued, "Pittman, you change with Jones, McCarthy, you change with Witkowski, and Brown, you change with Schultz. Now GET TO IT!"

THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS:
Someone may come along and promise 'Change', but don't count on things smelling any better. THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING IN PAKISTANI DEMOCRACY.

I'm suspect the message was intended for Obama.
Why would a message about Pakistani democracy have names like Pittman, Brown and Jones?

*hehe* The story is a western invention, the moral has been adapted (and rather aptly so) for the motherland.

How do we know said...

Most definitely for Obama, and the whole "Change we can believe in" campaign.
And I'd argue that the moral is not appropriate for Pakistan, at all.
The moral is preaching conservatism, which in Pakistan, equates to military and feudal oppression, intolerance, and a total disinterest, disdain and disenfranchisement of the average Pakistani citizen.
