"When angry, count to four; when very angry, swear."

- Mark Twain

Dawn, today, is a virtual treasure chest of awful news. The death toll a'la floods has reached 1100 (and counting). Internal displacement is in millions. News aside, everyday I hear stories of families stranded on tree-tops and makeshift rescue operations. And if natural disasters were not bad enough, a co-worker was just told that the local taliban, in an effort to antagonize security forces, have blown up a dam in Kohat. The city (and adjoining regions) are surrounded by water on all sides, and people have no way to escape rising water levels (short of camping out on rooftops which is what they are now doing).

What-the-fuck?!

Any citation for the Kohat dam? I didn't find any mention online.

My co-worker belongs to the region, he got a call from someone there. Apparently news agencies haven't published anything about it yet. Try GEO in an hour or so? :( According to the the conversation I heard, locals are terrified that our taliban-y friends are going to discover (and consequently blow up) the larger dam in the region. Apparently if that happens, there's no way to really prevent complete havoc from breaking out.
