Yes I know everyone makes mistakes. But then there are mistakes, and there are mistakes. There are things you do that you-perhaps-should-not-have-done that are so silly and trivial that you (and everyone else involved) forgets about them in the next ten minutes. There are things you do and you-should-not-have-done that you have to fervently apologize for, but when it's over you can move on and forget all about what you did (except to remember that you really should not do it again). And then, there those mistakes you make responding to god-knows-what-masochistic-urge that are so annoyingly big that not only are you doomed to remember them for the rest of your life (yes, some really are that monumental) but everything - including national television - keeps reminding you that sometimes, Xeb darling, you really ARE a monumental ass.
