February 14th.

This time last year I spent Valentine's day at Bawa Muhaiyaddeen's Ashram in Philadephia.

This year I'm sitting in Karbala, steeped in religious symbolism and Shi'ite shrines galore.

I think the diety is trying to tell me something.

But I don't particularly like the message.

Didn't think you would be the kind to really care about 'Valentine's Day'.

Anon: So much for your understanding of the female personality! :P We all care about 'Valentine's Day'. Those of us who claim not to (as I do upon occasion) are lying! :P

T: Sigh. Terrible isn't it? These messages are not fun. Maybe next year will be more, err, exciting! :P

Anon(2?): It's okay. I believe this may be a private conversation! :P

Well I am female and I still don't believe in it, and definitely thought you wouldn't either.

And just for sake of clarifying, I am very much not lying :)

Guess people can suprise, and Xeb definitely would!

Anon: Believing in something (that this is a sacred day for declarations of love) and caring about something (where oh where are my damn declarations of love) are two different things.

I care about 'V' day (as I still maintain all of us do) because it's a social symbol of affection. And damn it, what good is being loved if no one else knows about it? :P
