I really like how as soon as I announce an impending trip to Iraq next week concerned friends flood my mailbox with links such as these. Given that mommy's called for this trip to Karbala - and where mommy wants to go, mommy's children will take her - there seems to be little point in sending me teasers. And besides, does no one seem to remember I live in Pakistan? It takes a lot more than a few suicide bombs here and there to get us down.

Err, you don't need connections to get an Iraqi visa. I believe you can get it stamped when it lands.

but I want to go with u. is that possible?

Err, as much as I would love to indulge you, I doubt mommy would appreciate my inviting a possibly-creeper-stalker-type-person along. I hope you get to go soon though, if that's what you want. :)

Mostly to visit the shrines... And because mommy wants to go.

FYI. Visa on arrival is available only in Kurdistan for Pak nationals. Due to security conditions, religous tourism is allowed only for Iranians currently (which by Iraqi terms means chai & pani $$$) :P
