In yet another episode of how-this-world-is-fucked-up, China has decided to up its quota of state-sponsored stupidity by institutionalizing 'Internet-addiction' rehabilitation centers. A BBC news report that tells of how a boy was killed (accidentally I'm sure) while being beaten by his 'counselors'. The story also tells us that the Chinese government is 'increasingly taking action against what it sees as a pandemic of web addiction'. The government is worried, we hear, that as much as '10% of the country's 100 million teenage web users could be addicted'. In order to combat this clearly serious problem, they have institutionalized 'a growing number of rehabilitation services'.

WTF! Excuse me while I sit back and try (and fail) to digest this ludicruously transparent method of thought-control.
